Sueño Rio Celeste is a boutique bed & breakfast located in Bijagua, an authentic mountain village in northern Costa Rica. Nestled between the Tenorio and Miravalles Volcanos, our property is surrounded by a serene piece of rainforest and offers a unique and tranquil oasis for travelers with blooming flora and fauna, a healthy breakfast made from local ingredients, and an onsite spa. We aim to provide guests with a uniquely memorable experience and a one-of-a-kind stay, to include a variety of amenities set in a peacefully lush environment for exploration and relaxation. We are close to wonderful hiking, adventure & nature activities, secluded waterfalls and just a 20 minute drive to the iconic Rio Celeste in the Tenorio National Park. Conveniently located a short 90 minute drive from some of Costa Rica's most beautiful northern beaches, this area is truly a hidden gem.
The experience
From the moment you arrive at our property, you will feel the energy of the Jungle - the sound of birds will greet you around every turn and the trees will dance in the cool mountain breezes, creating a genuine sense of connection to our environment. Sueño Rio Celeste offers what we like to call, a "Rustic Luxury" experience with an emphasis on authentic Costa Rican charm in the form of natural wood & stone, artwork from local artists, well curated gardens/jungle showcasing some of Costa Ricas most beautiful and beneficial Flora. You will find that there is intention in every detail to create a well rounded and restful visit to Bijagua!
The Area
Bijagua Costa Rica is an up and coming mountain town that sits between the Tenorio & Miravalles Volcanos. Bijagua and the surrounding areas offer a unique, authentic Costa Rican experience away from the touristy hustle & bustle of touristic towns. The Owners
Thank you for considering our boutique bed & breakfast as part of your journey through Costa Rica.
On our very first visit to this beautiful country, we stayed at Sueño Rio Celeste and immediately felt a deep sense of tranquility and renewed energy. Set on three and a half acres of vibrant, flourishing gardens and natural habitat, the property is perfectly nestled between Tenorio and Miravalles Volcanoes. This unique setting invites an extraordinary diversity of wildlife, including butterflies, sloths, monkeys, and countless bird species from the large, charismatic Blue Jays to the highly sought after toucan!
As we explored opportunities throughout Costa Rica, nothing compared to the magic we experienced here in Bijagua but specifically Sueño Rio Celeste. When the opportunity arose to purchase this little oasis, we took a leap of faith and have never looked back. In August 2022, we made the move from Texas to Costa Rica and proudly became proprietors of Sueño Rio Celeste, continuing the vision first created by its original owners, Daniel and Dominic Biessel.
With the help of talented local artisans and our dedicated staff, we have thoughtfully remodeled and re-imagined the entire property. Today, Sueño Rio Celeste offers a comfortable, relaxing retreat in every season, surrounded by ever-growing gardens and an increasing abundance of flora and fauna.
Thanks to our carefully crafted amenities and close proximity to the region’s most spectacular attractions, our guests spend less time traveling and more time exploring. After a day of adventure, you can return to the property to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy the peaceful rhythms of nature.
Our warm and attentive staff are always eager to care for you, and we hope you’ll feel not just welcomed but truly at home. Meeting people from around the world and sharing this special place with them has become one of the greatest joys of our own Costa Rican adventure.
